Is the Republican Party Racist?

Posted by Steve Doss

ItÂ’s a perception thatÂ’s long been held in American politics. The Republican Party is anti-black and racist and the Democratic Party is pro-black and anti-racist. The Republicans cry foul and point to their history of fighting for civil rights, the Democrats scoff at such lunacy. Without getting into a long and arduous debate over which side is correct in itÂ’s assumptions regarding the other, I feel that both parties have a lot of work to do and that neither are blameless in regards to the treatment of blacks in America.

I instantly thought of Mike Murphy. I called my wife who was still in contact with someone that worked with Mike's father. I received a phone call back from my wife saying "Sorry honey, Mike was on that plane."

It has long been suggested that “music soothes the savage beast.” But is this true? And if it is, does this have any implication where humans are concerned? The answer, apparently, is yes. To illustrate this, researchers point to the different physiological changes that take place within the human body in response to different sounds and noises. When I was a kid my father would always tell me that I was going to get into a fight with someone that was bigger and badder than me because I allowed people to "push my buttons." He always told me that one day I was going to get pushed by the wrong guy. I've always suspected that my father was just "projecting" his perceived shortcomings on me, his impressionable son but recently the wisdom of his statement has become abundantly clear.
